26.43 Tons of Trash Collected After 212 Reunion

As many as 26.43 tons of trash were collected after the 212 reunion event at National Monument (Monas), Gambir, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (12/2).

Head of Central Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency, Slamet Riyadi said his rank deployed 600 joint personnel to clean the Monas area.

"The personnel cleaned the area starting from Monas and up to Jalan Medan Merdeka at 12 AM to 3 AM," he said, Wednesday (12/3).

Meanwhile, the Sub-agency's Head of Waste, Hazardous and Toxic Materials Management Section, Aditya Surya explained the trash was dominated by plastics.

"The types of waste collected are food scraps, food wrappers, bottled water and cigarette butts," he explained.

His rank deployed 20 garbage trucks, 20 roadsweeper units, six clean water tanker trucks, five dirty water trucks, 13 cross cars, 22 toilet buses and 600 plastic bags were deployed.

"The collected trash was transported to Bantargebang dump site," he stated.
